What Have We Here?

I am dressed like Darth Vader. "Cats, I am your mothaaaaar," I say. The Puppy, dressed like Chewbacca, says, "WRRRRAAAGH." "Darth Vader, only you could be so bold," Babycat says. She has been dressed like Princess Leia, buns and all. "Help me, Obi-Cat Kenobi, you've my only hope!" The Slinky One, hovering nearby and dressed in Jedi robes, says, "Okay, you don't want to dress up your cats, you wanna go home and rethink your life." The Kitten tries to pull off his Han Solo costume, saying, "Mom, I got a bad feeling about this." Sauntering out in a Lando Calrissian cape, The Fluffy One asks, "Well, well, what have we here?"

Here I was posting the Star Wars-themed one on Carrie Fisher’s birthday and I hear there’s a new trailer for Episode IX I gotta see. How about that.

We have to wait for December for the new movie, but you only have to wait ten more days to see what costumes the gang will actually be wearing (hint: enjoy this drawing because the real thing is going to be way blurrier and I don’t think we’ve got everyone on board yet).

Time To Fly

In a nod to Blade Runner, The Slinky One sits on a roof with a dove. He says, "I seen things you wouldn't believe. I been through the desert on a horse with no name, I took my horse wherever my horse wanted to go, now I'm gonna let this bird fly off and watch it while I sit in the rain. It's all gonna get lost like smells in rain, you know?" The bird coos. "Okay, time to fly," The Slinky One says. In the corner there's a hand holding an origami unicorn. In the background, the Spider, carrying a cane and wearing a moustache and goatee, hangs near a police spinner in the rain and says, "It's too bad they won't live...but then again, who does?"

Last year I was like, “OMG, next year is 2019? BLADE RUNNER HALLOWEEN THEME!” The whole month was going to be a drunk history version of the movie. And then actual 2019 happened, so you get a week, but you get this one how I planned it last year. Maybe a little fancier than I could have imagined. Gotta be fancy for my Slinky One.

Hey, who wants a origami unicorn avatar to show 2019 you know you’re doomed special and you don’t care know it? Credit me!

Wouldn’t It Be Loverly?

In a takeoff of My Fair Lady, Babycat is wearing a straw hat and in standing next to a basket of violets and a bunch of violets laying on the ground. She sings, "All I want is a room somewhere, far away from the cold night air, with one enormous chair...." The Ninja Twins are standing off to the side. The Slinky One is wearing a top hat and tails. "I bet you could make a lady out of that dame!" he says to The Fluffy One, who is wearing a Homburg and trenchcoat. "No, no, no, no...," says The Fluffy One. "I'm a good girl, I am!" Babycat says, glaring at them from her violets. Babycat wakes from her dream, purring in an enormous desk chair, with her kitten's head resting on her knee.

The Kitten is five months old today, and he and his mom have all chairs forever.

A mom cat and her kitten, who is just as big as her, curl up in a desk chair.

Fun fact: One cold and rainy night in 2018, I lured Babycat into the house. The Slinky One was sitting on the stairs, watching as Babycat bounced off the walls. As she ran past him, he went to go find his bro. So they totally met. He was totally cool with her. We see a lot of him in the Kitten. He is a loony hunk, and he likes musicals, too.

Kitten man loves Uncle Fluff and I think it goes both ways.

Babycat and I are living that “If you love somebody set them free,” thing. She came back to me, and she brought us an awesome gift. They’ve got their furever home and I can finally stop crying every time I think of that stupid song from My Fair Lady. Happy first 5 months, little baby. You hot stuff.
