When I was a kid and I’d freak out because I was convinced HR Giger’s Alien was in my closet, my Mum would tell me to watch the cats, and if the cats ran out of the room, I would know there was something to freak out about.
I don’t think she realized cats (and some dogs) just up and run from time to time.
